— The Future Kids Academy is a community based project (CBO) situated in the slums 'A Mathare', the second largest poorest in Nairobi. A focus lies on informal education for orphans, HIV infected and disabled children and less fortunate families living in slums, whose meagre income comes from selling vegetables on streets for example. Some engage in illegal activities like prostitution, sales of liquor, child labour, child prostitution etc. Our project is community sponsored, under the trust of Peter and Lydia. It has a unique story for having been initiated by a family whose 90% of life has been and is in the slums. The community is willing to do all that is needed to uplift the project through assistance, prayers and care.
They provide funds and information through awareness campaigns. With our Project, the talents of the children are topped, developed and utilized. However, apart from the commitment of the local community, help and money from outside is needed to expand.
